**Salary**: £28k

**Main Objectives of the position**:
Working alongside the Finance Manager you will be required to assist in keeping control over the day to day running of the purchase ledger, which includes processing a high volume of invoices, managing the unbooked purchase invoices and liaising with Managers and Operators to keep the unbooked invoices to a minimum. You will also be responsible in preparing and importing the GBP payment run on a twice monthly basis. You may also be required to assist with the general administrational/finance duties as and when necessary.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Control all received transport invoices onto operational system within 2 days of receipt
- Book purchase invoices where possible by checking the necessary programs for both full loads and groupage files
- Log and control all unbooked invoices and follow up regularly with operators in order that invoices can be booked
- Request any relevant back up documentation and delivery notes from suppliers
- Liaise with operational staff on a daily basis with any purchase invoices that you are unable to book.
- Prepare a weekly report of all unbooked invoices to send to Department Managers
- Checking and reconciling of statements received from suppliers and requesting copies where applicable
- Preparation of the GBP payment run on a twice monthly basis
- Allocation of GBP payments made in the finance system
- Posting of overhead running cost invoices to finance system
- make sure your own behaviour and telephone manner is up to Eurogate Standards, and is presentable to all our partners

**Main Requirements**:

- High level of spoken and written English
- Minimum of GCSE level education
- Good level of Excel Skills
- Experience of working with currency transactions
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position/industry
- Good attention to detail
- Capable of being organized and maintain detailed records
- Working Independently
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Able to problem solve using your own initiative
- Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion
