Procurement Assistant

An established and growing business who have earned the reputation of delivering high standards and exceptional customer service, are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join their Operations Team on a permanent bases.-Salary on offer between £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience), with a pay review upon successful completion of the probationary period.
- Location: Based in Avonmouth, Bristol
- Full-time hours working Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
- Free parking on site
- An immediate start is desirable

**The Company**:Flooring and cladding specialists, with over 30+ years of industry experience, who pride themselves on their detailed product knowledge as well as embracing new materials and techniques. A friendly and supportive environment witha tight-knit team working closely together to ensure the needs of their clients are met.**The Procurement Assistant role**:To provide diverse administration and organisational support to the Operations department by processing and ordering allmaterials required for jobs to run smoothly.
- Data input of material sizes, colour, quantities, remnants etc. to create orders on Sage
- Reduce and monitor stock levels to maximise business efficiency
- Prioritise and take action on incoming purchase requirements and liaise with the management team to review and clarify requirements, such as lead times and delivery dates
- Expedite the delivery of products to ensure delivery to the correct destination at the required time
- Regularly liaise with the warehouse on delivery details and supply cutting plans where necessary
- Assist in monitoring suppliers' performance
- Resolve any scheduling difficulties, taking preventative action to avoid re-occurrence
- Liaise with finance team to ensure credit limits and any invoice queries are dealt with efficiently
- Provide general and organisation support to the account management team
**The ideal person for the Procurement Assistant role**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal including report-writing.
- Possess good listening skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Excellent organisation and business administration skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent IT skills are needed, and a knowledge of Sage is advantageous.
- A background in construction or contract / domestic flooring would be advantageous but not essential.
