Job Role

The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), is a not-for-profit company established in 2006 to lead the insurance industry's collective fight against insurance fraud. We act as a central hub for sharing insurance fraud data and intelligence, using our unique position at the heart of the industry and unrivalled access to data to detect and disrupt organised fraud networks.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about working in a counter fraud environment, looking to develop a career in this field, and who has excellent research, report writing and analytical experience.
Our Intelligence and Investigation Researchers support the delivery of first-class counter fraud services to the UK insurance industry.
This is done by working as part of a skilled team to produce and disseminate accurate and timely intelligence warnings to IFB customers, assisting in the identification of proactive intelligence warnings from internal IFB systems and supporting the tasking and development process through directed research and the identification of additional development work.

Key Outputs
- Log inbound intelligence casework and requests for information into the IFB case management and workflow system to ensure cases can be effectively triaged, assessed and allocated
- Research cases assigned for intelligence warning and produce accurate and timely intelligence warnings as appropriate within agreed timeframes
- Research and respond to assigned requests for information from customers and authorised external third-party agencies within agreed timeframes
- Assist our Intelligence & Investigations Development Officers and Coordinators in the development of intelligence cases where appropriate, including the identification potential proactive networks for development and development opportunities identified in cases assigned for intelligence warning only

Skills and Knowledge

**Essential**
- Experience of producing clear and concise and high-quality written reports/ summary fraud intelligence / risk / process review briefings
- Demonstrable track record of research capability
- Evidence of adapting research and analytical skills to changing roles, environments, etc.
- Experience of dealing with customers, stakeholders and members of the public people over the telephone
- Knowledge of insurance fraud and other forms of financial crime
- An Understanding of the principles of insurance
- A passion for working in a fraud investigation environment and a desire to pursue a career in this field
- An ability to Think Big, Inspire and put Customers First in accordance with our principles

**Desirable**
- An Understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to the insurance industry
- Experience of insurance claims handling or similar investigative experience
- Familiarity with the relevant processes and data requirements of external / law enforcement stakeholders
- Familiarity with analytics systems and associated process needed to identify suspect patterns of activity in large data clusters
- Experience of working with law enforcement to investigate fraud / crime
- Previous use of i2 or similar mapping / charting software
- Competence in the use of on-line search facilities (e.g. Experian, Equifax etc.)

Salary circa £26,000, depending on experience
35 hours per week
