**GDASS Mental Health Independent Domestic Violence Advisor**

**About the role**

In addition to support services, GDASS also operate a helpline.

You will be required to give practical, emotional, support to people who are high risk victims of domestic abuse using inpatient and community Mental Health Services.

You will be required to work closely with the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Safeguarding Team.

You will work effectively with the wider staff team, other professionals such as social care, the police and health professionals in order to reduce the risk for victims.

You will act as the voice of the victim within the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference

You must also give advice/ develop and deliver training to other professionals within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust to be able to recognise domestic abuse and how to respond quickly and effectively.

**About you**

You must have experience of working with victims of domestic abuse.

You need to have experience of working in a multi agency environment.

You need to have experience of working with clients with multiple and complex vulnerabilities.

You will be working directly with customers in a challenging or potentially challenging environment.

You will be supporting victims of domestic abuse through the court system.

You must have an understanding of legal remedies for victims of domestic abuse and be able to advocate on behalf of a client.
