Gloucester, United Kingdom Severn Wye Energy Agency Full time

**Support households to become more energy efficient in this train-while-you-work role, perfect for an aspiring domestic energy advisor.**

This is a training role where you will be able to learn by doing the job and studying. You will be supported by qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA), working on public funded programmes to help retrofit domestic properties, and carrying out sustainable domestic energy work at a range of levels. You will be training to qualify as an accredited DEA, while supporting the Energy Services team on project work. This will give you a broad knowledge of retrofit and affordable warmth projects, and may involve: data entry, data analysis and reporting support, and project admin. Training is expected to be continuous while at Severn Wye, but we would expect the initial training period to become a competent Domestic Energy Assessor to take 3-6 months.

The role involves visiting people in their homes - you must be comfortable working with all sorts of people, including elderly and vulnerable people. You may encounter pets (dogs, cats, birds and anything in between). Within reason, you will be required to carry and use a ladder to inspect loft spaces, and you may have to access other small, enclosed spaces such as cupboards or basements, while maintaining your own personal safety, and that of others.

This post requires a satisfactory DBS check and appropriate references, but if this is the sort of work you see yourself thriving in, we’d love to hear from you.
