The Actions Unit is an integral part of Greenpeace UK’s programme, providing strategic, tactical and creative input into all campaigns and appropriate investigations. The team are currently looking for an** Activist Coordinator**. The position complements and supports the current skillset and work demands within the wider department.

The role sits within the wider Logistics Department in Greenpeace UK, which comprises of our Workshop, Actions, Outreach and Events Teams. The department is tasked with delivery of offline work in support of the aims of Greenpeace UK. The Logistics Department covers an enormous range and amount of work from Street Stalls and Public Speaking to Non Violent Direct Actions.

This role would be key to supporting and developing activist’ relationships with the department, acting as main contact for our activists and volunteers. Leading the recruitment of our activists, ensuring we’re identifying and developing a network of skilled and dedicated activists to support our work.

In addition the role will act as Legal Coordinator, which includes coordinating the Activist Welfare and Legal Support network and the provision of support to activists during legal proceedings. Liaising with lawyers and other office staff as needed. As a key part of the Actions Unit, this role will in addition provide logístical support in preparation for our work.

The hours may be long and unsociable, with working at weekends and evenings as required (time off in lieu is given). The scope of skills needed is very diverse community building online and off line, great communication, an understanding of Greenpeace’s mission and tactics. You would play a significant role in the design and implementation of our Non Violent Direct Action, Activist Welfare and Legal Support and Recruitment and Retention training.

This role will work closely with all members of the Department, especially with the Deputy Logistics Director - Actions, as line manager, and the other members of the Activist Development Team.
- Location: Islington, London. Our hybrid working model enables us to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. We ask that staff work from the office in Islington 40% of their time, with 20% required as a minimum.
