**FIXED TERM CONTRACT - 6 MONTHS, BUYER POSITION IN HAYWARDS HEATH**

If you have experience in the manufacturing/engineering sector in a buyer or purchasing role and are immediately available, I would love to hear from you

**SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Work with Customer Order Management and Planning to quote costs and deliveries for existing and new purchased components relevant for the site, obtaining supplier quotes via Ariba.
- Work with Supplier Performance Group, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to fulfil quality, cost, and delivery needs.
- Coordinate with the Global Sourcing team for spot buy values greater than $100k and for general sourcing support as needed.
- Manage and maintain all system ERP data as required.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce related expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Support any supply chain initiatives roll-out across the site/platform or any ad-hoc request as directed by line manager.

**COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS**
- Proven working experience with SAP
- Proven working experience with Ariba (preference)
- IT proficient (Microsoft Office)
- Fluent verbal and communication skills in English; with preference to additional languages.
- Reliable negotiation skills
- Basic data analysis skills
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Experience in collecting and analysing data
- Results oriented
- Strong work ethic and responsiveness
- Problem solver

**PREFERENCES**
- 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's Degree in Business (Supply Chain Management preferred)
- Product / Commodity intimacy preferred
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
