**Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (ODP)**:
Spire Healthcare Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (ODP) to join our team at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital in Edinburgh. This is a temporary position with a start date of 06/02/2024 and an end date of 06/02/2024.

As a Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (ODP), you will play a crucial role in assisting the surgical team during orthopaedic procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient scrubbing of major orthopaedic cases, providing support to surgeons and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating theater.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Scrubbing and circulating during major orthopaedic procedures
- Preparing and maintaining the sterile field
- Assisting with the positioning and draping of patients
- Promptly passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure
- Monitoring and anticipating the needs of the surgical team
- Ensuring proper disposal of surgical specimens and waste
- Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure the highest standard of patient care
- Adhering to infection control policies and procedures
- Participating in continuous professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge

To excel in this role, you should have a relevant qualification as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) and possess significant experience in a similar role, particularly in major orthopaedic procedures. You must have a strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures related to orthopaedics. A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure are essential.

- Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
- Proven experience as a Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner
- Excellent understanding of major orthopaedic procedures and surgical techniques
- Proficiency in maintaining a sterile field
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment used in orthopaedics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work various shift patterns, including weekends and nights

This temporary position offers a payment rate of £392.70 per shift. The shift timings for this role are from 07:00:00 to 18:00:00. You will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with a supportive team of healthcare professionals.
