NHS Professionals have an exciting opportunity for a registered Biomedical Scientist with Histology experience to support our client trust. You will be responsible for accurately and safely providing necessary care to patients engaging with the service in theTrust. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

Wycombe Hospital is the Trust’s main site for planned (elective) surgery. They also provide specialist treatment for patients with heart conditions and strokes, as well as cancer and urological conditions. Wycombe Hospital includes a modern, midwifery-ledunit that complements their consultant-led maternity service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**:
You will be assisting senior staff in the provision of an efficient, effective and comprehensive service in the cellular pathology department.

Role entails production of histological stained sections of surgical and post mortem tissues, which the consultant pathologist uses in diagnosis.

Have a working knowledge of the cellular pathology computer for data entry, enquiry, ordering tests, entering results and printing reports.

Take part in laboratory rota as required for special procedures - cut up, immunocytochemistry (ICC), immunofluorescence (IMF), OSNA, and special stains.

Be HCPC registered and practise as a Registered Biomedical Scientist.

Previous Histology experience and Microtomy required to a good standard.

Available to work a minimum of three days per week.
