**Job summary**:
DWP is looking to fill one **Grade 7 **role to work on the People Impacts Team for the Workplace Transformation Programme (WTP). This job role offers an opportunity to show clear and effective leadership and stakeholder management skills, both within and outside the Department.

The WTP People Impacts Team is the people strand of a major transformation programme which in turn, is positioned within People, Capability and Place Directorate and works closely with Programme and Estates colleagues on people issues related to estate changes.

You will play a critical role in the corporate leadership of PCandP and through your direct line management of a highly functioning MI and Data team, provide key insight across the HR community on cross Civil Service HR priorities, and cross-cutting Departmental activities.

This role sits within the Strategy, Governance and Reporting strand of the People Impacts Team and provides a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to broaden their experience and work in a strategic, complex and fast paced environment.

Activity you will be responsible for include providing effective leadership to the MI and Data team, responsible for tracking all people activity across Workplace Transformation utilising a bespoke digital solution and reporting out to WTP directors; Ministers; DG's; Senior Leaders and other key stakeholders.

**Job description**:

- As part of the WTP team, operate at a senior and strategic level as an integral member of the leadership team, providing an objective view, challenging and acting as an intelligent customer into the wider Programme SLT
- In the context of Estates Transformation and future Location Strategy, lead on the development of a People Strategy, ensuring people impacts are at the forefront of design; planning, delivery and interventions. Identifying challenges and mitigations through prioritised activity
- Working flexibly, collaboratively and at pace across DWP, ensuring effective planning, execution of structural and cultural changes and the effective deployment of HR resource/expertise
- Using metrics and insight to clearly articulate the outcomes of transformational delivery on our people; identify and address continuous improvement and lessons learned, and to shape and influence future decisions for DWPs Estates and Location Strategy.
- Ensure governance throughout the strategy and reporting activity by providing assurance papers, regular updates and reports to Directors and Senior Leaders across the Programme and PCandP
- Building and leveraging on positive relationships/engagement across the People, Capability and Place group; within the Workplace Transformation Programme; Service Modernisation and Service Delivery colleagues
- Influencing and supporting strategy and policy development reviews to ensure changes are future proofed and applied consistently across the Department
- Lead a team in developing high quality programme plans and measure activity against these, manage performance and report progress to key stakeholders.

**Person specification**:
A proven track record and experience of leading and engaging across a wide range of demanding and diverse stakeholders specifically relating to HR issues and solutions which have enabled organisational transformation. Ideally your experience will be rooted in a large and complex organisation. **(Lead Criteria)**

Experience of building and leading a high-performing team using insight and analysis to deliver challenging outcomes at pace and through collaboration with others.

Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering across work strands to support the successful delivery of organisational transformation, taking into account the bigger strategic picture; competing priorities and a broad range of needs.

An ability to quickly understand complex transformation strategies and delivery requirements, confidently identifying HR issues and innovative solutions.

Excellent communication skills and an ability to use and present data, insight and evidence to influence and inform at a senior and strategic level on a wide range of complex people management and development issues.

A proven ability to build trust-based relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across dispersed multi organisation teams and across boundaries.
