**Associate Director of Estates and Facilities**:
**Permanent Salary : £72,000 - £85,000 per annum fixed term 12 months**
**Contractor rate: £40 - £47 per hour PAYE**
**Person specification**:
**Essential**:

- Degree in Building Service Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
- Masters degree or equivalent specialist knowledge in engineering
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Significant experience operating at associate director level or other similar senior roles, and experience reporting to/working at board or director level
- Budget management skills
- Proven contract and project management experience
- Experience in participating in on-call rotas, preferably within a healthcare environment
- High productivity and genuine self-starter

**Desirable**:

- MBA in facilities management
- Recognised management qualification
- Research experience
- Experience of campus master planning

**Responsibilities**:

- Across all the properties/sites owned or occupied by the organisation
- Deputise for the Director of Capital, Estates & Facilities Management
- As the senior team lead for the BEMS and allied services, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring a positive culture within the service, displaying excellent leadership behaviours and develop a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure effective communication is maintained within the Estates, Capital and Facilities Teams and between other relevant staff groups and external agencies in delivering capital schemes and projects
- Provide specialist technical guidance to heads of service regarding engineering changes, providing necessary approvals as required
- Procure and provide cost advice / estimates in the preparation of building and engineering repairs and replacement feasibility studies and detailed schemes.
- Responsible for developing a five-year forward maintenance programme and provide specialist input into the 6-facet assessment to ensure a robust and accurate reflection of the Trust’s engineering & infrastructure assets.
- Ensure appropriate specialist advisors, engineers and technical support are allocated to building and engineering maintenance activities.
- Consistent maintenance schedules are prepared for each asset, ensuring current statutory legislation, HBNs and HTMs are adhered to wherever possible.
- Provide input into proposed derogations ensuring a sound rationale is adopted for supporting any derogations
- Ensuring building and engineering services are maintained on time and on budget
- The Estate asset records including comprehensive drawings for the Trust’s Estate and building services are maintained in a current and consistent format to enable proper use by all divisions within the Capital, Estates & Facilities Directorate.
- Support the Principal Engineer with the assessment and completion of Strategic and Operational Risk Management Protocols and provide specialist input into future plans for the estate commonly as part of master planning, major project development and futureinfrastructure consideration
