**Description**:
The successful Credit Risk Quality Controller will play a vital role in the day to day credit risk management function working alongside an experienced and professional operational team to implement of a robust and effective Credit Risk framework across the business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop a working knowledge of Mortgage Underwriting Policy and Operational Processes.
- Support the continuing evolution, implementation and maintenance of the Group's Credit Risk Management Framework and related policies.
- Undertake a programme of regular reviews of the Lending Operations Department credit underwriting standards.
- Provide feedback to the Lending Operations department on any risks identified and any resolution actions required from the audit findings.
- Review compliance with Group Credit Risk Policies.
- Be a point of contact for any complex cases or cases that are potential exceptions to policy requiring approval.
- Review of Fraud Alerts and advise operations on whether and how to proceed.
- Identify and complete deep dives on recurring risk finding on completed audits.
- Contribute towards the enhancement of credit controls to manage risk, by assisting with credit control testing programmes and attending regular meetings with the Lending Operations and Tech departments.
- Participate in reviews of the potential impact on portfolio performance and credit risk appetite of credit or macro-economic events.
- Interface with stakeholders in respect of credit oversight and governance providing assurance and technical comment where required.
- Interface with the Business Intelligence team to develop credit risk Management Information packs and analysis for commentary and upward reporting.
- Support the development and delivery of Operational teams training & competency.
- Participate in company projects, where credit risk analysis is required

**Skills Knowledge and Expertise**:
We are looking for a team player, someone with exceptional communication and analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong proficiency with Excel. You will also need prior mortgage industry experience with exposure to, or understanding of, mortgage operations and credit risk audit/underwriting or management. CeMAP, a higher education qualification in Data Management/Analytics, and/or a previous lending mandate would be desirable.
