Job Title: Building Surveyor - Property Expert

Job Summary:

Certain Advantage is seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our team as a Property Expert. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical surveying services across a geographical portfolio of properties and contract management for a defined planned maintenance programme.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Planned Maintenance Delivery: Oversee the delivery of planned maintenance through external contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of works.
  • Minor Works and Refurbishment: Manage minor works and refurbishment projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Planned, Repairs & Void Surveying: Conduct surveys to identify defects and recommend repairs, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Health and Safety: Develop and implement health and safety programmes, including fire safety initiatives, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, including homeowners, leaseholders, and market rent customers.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in surveying and contract management in the social housing sector, with a strong understanding of building and maintenance legislation.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in surveying or a related field, and a current full driving license.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of financial and contractual considerations, including risk management and procurement processes.

Working Arrangements:

You will work from Monday to Thursday, out and about in our communities, with Friday typically being an admin meeting day. You will be required to work flexibly, occasionally undertaking work outside normal office hours.
