Cowley, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you looking for a new challenge as part of a dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service?

With a big national focus on improving services for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, there has never been a better time to join Oxford Health CAMHS and make a positive difference to children and young people’s lives.

We are recruiting into a full time Children's Well-Being Practitioners (CWP) to join the Oxfordshire CAMHS MHST Team.

A children’s wellbeing practitioner (CWP) is a highly specialist role in a CAMHS team. The role is pivotal to enhancing accessibility to CAMHS by delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for mild to moderate low mood and anxiety disorders. The national Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) programme was developed following recommendations made in ‘Implementing the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health' plan, to provide evidence based interventions for children and young people.

The role is pivotal to enhancing accessibility to the MHST in CAMHS by delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for mild to moderate low mood and anxiety disorders.

You will be expected to deliver assessments of children mental health including family and carers where required. You will be expected to complete mental health assessments, risk assessments, care plans, GP letters, and liaison with other agencies such as social care and schools. You will offer 1 to 1 CBT-informed evidence-based intervention to children and their families, both remotely and face to face in a range of bases in the community. There is also the chance to deliver CBT and informed groups.

You will also work alongside the youth workers and EMHP's to deliver on the whole school approach within the MHST.

The post-holder will work within the MHST Team, within the child and adolescent mental health service providing high volume low intensity interventions. The role is hybrid, meaning clinical work can take place in schools, the clinic base and on occasions, remotely. The role will involve offering a range of low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based treatments, along with offering assisted self-management interventions to young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

The post-holder will also offer parent-led pieces of work, focusing on addressing challenging behaviour and child anxiety. The role will be focused on working with children, families, and the education setting. The post-holder will have opportunities to develop skills in working with schools and delivering on the whole school approach.

Benefits of working for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust include:

- Excellent opportunities for career progression
- 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, with an increase to 33 days with continuous service
- NHS Discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers
- Staff accommodation
- Competitive pension scheme
- Lease car scheme
- Cycle to work scheme

The role is pivotal to enhancing accessibility to CAMHS by delivering low-intensity psychological interventions for mild to moderate low mood and anxiety disorders. Assessing young people mental health needs.
