This opportunity is available in our Little Hulton hub
We offer a wide range of services to people that are homeless or at risk of homelessness, from free and discounted goods from the Food Club and Community Shop, tailored support for gaining employment, benefits and accommodation, and classes in art, English, Computer Confidence and more.

**What we are looking for?**

We are looking for volunteers, supporting in everything from the Food Club (Mustard Tree's version of a food bank) to retail in our community shop.

Mentorship is an aspect of the role, as you’ll be working alongside Freedom Trainees. The Freedom programme is offered to people who are building skills for life and sometimes employment, and you’ll help them by sharing your experience and warmth. You’ll never be expected to support them in a way that you’re not equipped to, but you’ll get to support somebody on their journey.

**What can you get from Volunteering?**

Volunteers can help us deliver these services whilst also gaining from the experience. You’ll form bonds with team members and clients and get a free lunch The range of roles means you’ll also develop some new skills, applicable to both life and work. Off the back of these experiences, many volunteers go on to careers in the third sector or support.

**What you will be doing?**
- Supporting the running of the Food Club, building up food parcels with clients
- Welcoming, advising, and being happy to chat with customers
- Operating the till, handling money
- Supporting the training of Freedom Project trainees, helping them improve their English, confidence, customer service skills and retail experience
- Organising stock, accepting & sorting donations
- Helping manage the shop floor: displaying goods, maintaining a high standard of quality in the shop’s presentation
- Signposting clients towards further support within Mustard Tree
- Attending team briefings

**What are we looking for?**
- Work within health, safety, and safeguarding guidelines as well as Mustard Tree policies and procedures
- Flexible & can-do attitude
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Embody Mustard Tree Values and represent the charity when required
- Be happy to be relatively flexible in the role, supporting the shop team where necessary

**When can you volunteer?**

Volunteering shifts run from 9am - 2.15pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We are looking for volunteers to do one day a week (or more if you have availability)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Volunteer
Part-time hours: 6 per week
