**Accrington area - Small residential care home (6 bed)for females with learning disabilities is looking for an experienced team leader (female due to the needs of the ladies we support) ** **The home is unique in its approach, and have been complemented on the outstanding care we provide. The ladies we support are full of fun, creativity and a love of life. They have a can do attitude, nothing stops them from learning and experiencing new projects.**

Usual shifts 28 hours plus 2 sleep-in's plus alternative weekend cover.

The home is looking for someone who is able to take the lead in the event of the registered manager's absence. The role will require you to be available for on-call on a rota based system. We offer 24 hour support within the home.

As Team leader in a very small home, you will support all aspects of Home Management to provide a safe, stimulating and positive environment for the ladies we support. As we are a small home all staff are required to support with personal care although mínimal.

You will also provide leadership and proactive support to the team. Therefore you must have senior staff experience in at least managing a team as well as Hands-on experience working with complex needs and learning disabilities.

No day is the same so being able to diversify is a must, **a good sense of humour not essential but it helps.**

As a Team leading staff member, you will be asked to;
- Monitor standards of care delivered by experienced support staff through observation and direct involvement, ensuring that all ladies we support receive quality person centred care, you will have full support from the manager.

You will need to learn all about the ladies (being aware of any change, particularly resident’s behaviours and psychological needs). and update support plans to reflect new needs.

You will familiarise yourself quickly and assist with the implementation of all policies, procedures and business objectives as per the Manager’s guidance
- You will be responsible for the preparation of the staff duty rota to ensure optimal staffing patterns at all times and a fair rota, initially you will be supported with this.

Liaise with health and social care professionals involved, initially always with manager’s guidance.

Ensure concerns or complaints are documented and brought forward to the Manager for advice and then dealt with appropriately. You will need full knowledge of safeguarding and dealing with safeguarding issues, always discussing with the Manager.
- You may be asked to assume responsibility for managing the Home during the manager’s scheduled and unscheduled absences. So you will need to be confident and robust.

Attend daily handovers when you are scheduled to work to have a supportive presence in the home.

Participate in sleep-ins and weekend coverage where you can assume full responsibility for the home on a rota based on-call, with alternate weekends.

Minimum requirements

Driving License, not essential.
- NVQ3 or above, (NVQ4 preferred)

At least 1 years in a senior support position
- Specific interest and Experience with Learning disabilities and autism.
