We are looking for a friendly, committed and enthusiastic Animal Farm Assistant to join our Animal Farm team part-time, seasonal. The main focus is to look after the welfare of the animals and to provide an excellent customer service.

Wellington Country Park is a beautiful unique location set within 300 acres of the Duke of Wellington’s estate. We are an award-winning visitor attraction destination for a family day out in the country. Perfect for children aged up to the age of 8 years old, the Park has many attractions including an Animal Farm, Campsite, Splash Zone, Miniature Railway and more.

**Hours of Work**: variable depending on the needs of the business - between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm. All staff are required to work Bank Holiday weekends.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Delivering a happy experience to our customers with great customer service To have a good basic knowledge of the Country Park in order to help with customer queries
- Positively promote and protect the reputation of Wellington Country Park and the wider Estate at all times Daily husbandry of all animals at the farm to include livestock species, small domestic animals, aviary birds, tortoises and poultry
- Cleaning animal pens and enclosures to a weekly and monthly cleaning rota
- Preparing and giving out food to animals to follow set diet plans Health checks of animals at the Farm.
- Assisting with routine grooming, medical procedures and handling of animals
- Maintain a clean and tidy farm environment to include handwash facilities and toilets
- Ensure all areas are kept well stocked and inform Animal Farm Manager or Farm Supervisor of any low stock
- Keep all staff areas clean and tidy to include staff room and animal kitchen
- To provide enrichment and training to animals as set out by farm procedures
- Ensure Farm opening and close down procedures are followed and everything is clean and tidy ready for the next day
- To run petting sessions, give daily public talks or feeding sessions to a daily activity timetable
- To participate in events held at the Farm To assist with school visits petting sessions as required
- To perform other reasonable duties as set out by the Animal Farm Manager or Supervisor

**Customer Service**:

- Should be personable to deal with customer queries and requests
- Promote customer care through all actions and behaviours
- To co-operate with all team members
- To support safe working practices and observe the Employer’s Health & Safety policy

Personal Specification:

- Studying or be qualified in animal care or management or to be able to demonstrate relevant experience
- Friendly, confident and approachable attitude
- Sound communication skills
- The position requires commitment, focus and reliability
- Ability to multi-task as necessary whilst working in a busy environment
- Dealing with all customers in a professional manner
- To be able to work within a team and alone on tasks
