Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinator
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Trust has recently invested in a new cancer tracking system, Somerset Cancer Registry (SCR). Ideally you will have some experience working as an MDT coordinator or in a similar role and although familiarity with using a cancer tracking system would be advantageous, it is not essential.
An understanding of the cancer waiting times standards and the associated targets is required. You must have excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills. A keen attention to detail is vital and you must have the ability to prioritise and organise work with minimum assistance. You will be a team player who is able to work autonomously when required.
In this role you will virtually navigate patients through their pathway from point of referral to treatment in accordance with agreed pathway steps and timescales, proactively identifying and resolving delays at all stages and you’ll be required to provide accurate data and information to support this. You will work amongst a range of different stakeholders in a Multidisciplinary team and provide information to support achievement of the national cancer waiting times. You will be required to prepare and facilitate the MDT meetings as well as the collection of data for diagnosed and suspected cancer patients, ensuring it is recorded on the appropriate database.
This is an exciting time to join the Trust, which is rated one of HSJ’s Top 100 Places to Work
Please see Job Description and Personal Specification attached for further details.
For further information, informal visits and enquiries are both welcomed and encouraged.
