The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a new full time, fixed term Project Technical Consultant to support The Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics.

**The Opportunity**:
The Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics draws on, and seeks to continue, a long and distinguished history of studies at the University of Edinburgh. It follows in the footsteps of the University’s Institute for Historical Dialectology in taking an empirical approach to linguistic variation across time and space.

This role will play a pivotal part in the redevelopment of the Angus McIntosh Centre, and specifically the on-line presence and associated web pages by writing script and updating content.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Ability to produce quality output for the web in an efficient, professional and timely manner.
- Knowledge of a range of core web technologies and frameworks and an understanding of metadata and basic semantic web technologies.
- Initiative and judgment to resolve many day-to-day problems independently.
- Ability to work with a collaborative approach to ensure that key project deadlines are met.
- Experience working on digital arts, humanities or social science projects would be highly desirable.
