**About Kinmos**
Kinmos are a registered charity based in the heart of Kings Heath and Moseley. Originally established in 1979 to offer a hand of friendship and reduce social isolation to anyone with lived experience of mental health.
Today, we are community-based charity supporting people with lived experience of mental health become the best person they can be. We offer services from community-based activities, social connection enabling, early intervention strategy, and much more.
**The Role**
Kinmos provides regular activities and support groups in Kings Heath and Moseley, alongside regular day trips for our members. This provides a safe space that many find invaluable in supporting people with lived experience of mental health to be the best person they can be and be a valued member of their community.
However, we feel we can do more. Through your support and encouragement, we hope to extend that safe space to more members. As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you will be speaking to people in the community to raise awareness and encourage donations and participation by speaking to as many people as possible at Kinmos events.
**Duties**
- You'll know how work closely with supporters, volunteers, and local groups
- You will be confident in organising fundraising activities
- Engaging members of the public in conversation
- Accept that people may not wish to contribute
- Encouraging and motivating people to participate in activities, including classes, sports and leisure, social and recreational activities.
- Comfortable talking to people
**Skills and Qualities**
- A friendly, outgoing, and approachable manner
- Flexible and willing
- Good listening skills and openness to learning about mental health
- Supportive and non-judgemental
- Lived experience or knowledge mental health is helpful but not essential as training will be provided
- Strong Organisational skills
- Fundraising / sales experience desired but not essential
**Other requirements**

- Commitment to the ethos of Kinmos and the recovery model.
- DBS check
