**The Post**

The team reports directly to the Academic Registrar and supports and provides expertise to the Academic Registrar as required to support the successful achievement of Academic Registry objectives. The team also works collaboratively with the University’s Faculties, Divisions, and Professional Services Directorates to achieve institutional objectives.

The purpose of the post is to contribute to the delivery of the University’s arrangements, policies, and procedures in respect to student immigration support and compliance; provide focused, expert advice and support to staff and international students across all relevant categories of sponsorship, including post study work, whilst mitigating the risk of non-compliance; and liaise and collaborate effectively with partners and external stakeholders with a focus on providing an excellent experience throughout the student journey, demonstrating high levels of customer care.

**Description of Duties**
- Maintain a thorough and detailed knowledge of UKVI policy guidance to continually improve service delivery, enhance the student experience and to ensure the University remains compliant with its obligations as a student sponsor
- Contribute to the range of compliance approaches operated by the team and as required, engage with colleagues across the University, handle and record documentation and data, undertake communication with UKVI etc
- Support the Student Hub in providing accurate first line responses to immigration queries, regularly reviewing their development needs, and providing training as required when policies or processes change
- Work in collaboration with colleagues at INTO Stirling to support continued partnership approaches and compliance
- Support the visa extension process for current students, ensuring that Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) issued to current existing students requiring an extension are compliant, meet UKVI criteria and are in the best interests of the University
- Act as a Level 1 User on the UKVI Sponsor Management System
- Use data relevant to student immigration to inform continuing monitoring activity and prepare data as required for the purposes of internal management reporting/oversight
- Deliver workshops and student communications/engagements throughout the academic year, in line with delivery schedules and objectives
- Work in collaboration across Academic Registry and with academic colleagues and other service areas to deliver objectives
- Work with a consistent focus on providing an excellent student experience and high levels of customer care
- Contribute to the ongoing development of business processes, procedures and working practices within the team to support continuous improvement and optimum efficiency
- Undertake any other duties as may be required, in line with the grade and nature of the role, as directed by the Student Immigration Manager, Deputy Student Immigration Manager or Academic Registrar

**Essential Criteria**
- A degree level qualification and work experience in relevant administrative roles based within the context of a relevant regulatory framework / significant work experience in relevant administrative roles based within the context of a relevant regulatory framework in roles of increasing level and responsibility
- At least a working knowledge of working with Home Office/UKVI student rules and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey complex information to a diverse audience, both orally and in writing
- Ability to respond sensitively to students facing difficult situations
- Ability to resolve complex issues and work with a solution focussed approach
- A logical approach to work with strong planning, organising and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively whether independently or with others within a team
- Ability to prioritise a demanding workload in a busy and pressurised environment
- Commitment to customer service
- Meticulous attention to detail

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of working in a student-facing role
- Competence to provide immigration advice to students and their families to OISC level 1 or 2 would be advantageous
- Knowledge of the higher education sector and its regulatory framework
- Experience of using student record systems
- Knowledge of SITS/Tribal software would be particularly advantageous
