Job Title: HDU and Planning Support
As the HDU and Planning Support at iON Ambulance Care, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) and assisting the Planning Team with various operational tasks. Your responsibilities will include coordinating patient transfers, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with the planning and scheduling of ambulance resources to ensure efficient service delivery.
1. **High Dependency Unit (HDU) Support**:
- Assist with the coordination of patient transfers to and from the HDU, ensuring timely and safe transport.
- Maintain accurate records of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with healthcare facilities, ambulance crews, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless patient care and transport logistics.
2. **Administrative Support**:
- Provide administrative assistance to the HDU team, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.
- Assist with the preparation of patient documentation, medical records, and discharge instructions as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as billing and medical records, to ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing processes.
3. **Planning Support**:
- Assist the Planning Team with operational tasks, such as scheduling ambulance crews, allocating resources, and coordinating transport logistics.
- Input and maintain data in scheduling software and databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, charts, and presentations to support planning and decision-making processes.
4. **Communication and Coordination**:
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing information and assistance as needed.
- Communicate with ambulance crews, dispatchers, and healthcare providers to coordinate patient transport requests and updates.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, dispatch, and administration, to address issues and resolve conflicts.
5. **Quality Assurance**:
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining quality assurance processes within the HDU and Planning Team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Participate in audits, assessments, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in HDU operations and planning processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, patient transport, or related fields is advantageous.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer service mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Dedication to providing high-quality support and assistance to the HDU and Planning teams.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £25,999.00-£26,000.00 per year
