**The Company**:
The company is an accountancy firm who specialise in assisting agencies reach their full potential by providing accounting and advisory services. Due to continued growth and expansion, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Accounts Controller - Senior to join their friendly team on a permanent basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform bookkeeping duties using Xero accounting software covering all functions, invoice entry, invoice raising and bank reconciliation. Reconciliation aged receivables and aged payables.
- Operate Dext and demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of the product.
- To be able to use and understand Senta Practice Management software, understanding and completing tasks that have been allocated.
- Post the trial balance onto TaxCalc accounting software.
- Post prepayments, accruals and wages journals as required.
- Prepare accounts on Xero from an incomplete set of records.
- Complete VAT returns and review for errors so VAT is correct to send to clients for approval.
- To be able to complete personal tax returns.
- Prepare limited company accounts for manager review so that they are ready for presentation to clients.
- Prepare corporation tax returns for limited companies.
- To develop knowledge of practice software and look to maintain knowledge of software as it develops and develop knowledge of new software that could aid the practice and its clients.
- Develop management reporting skills and forecasting skills to help clients better understand their business.
- To work towards developing own portfolio of clients taking responsibility for them within the practice.
- To assist with development of junior staff in the practice.
- Liaise with HMRC and resolve basic issues as required.
- Liaise with clients as required and maintain good working relationships with them.
- Undertake ad hoc assignments as required and cover payroll in the absence of the payroll controller.
- Comply with the company’s health and safety policy and procedures and take reasonable care, to the best of your individual knowledge and ability, to avoid injury to yourself and to others by acts or omissions in your work.
- Undertake any other duties that are consistent with the company’s expectations of the post.

**Technical Knowledge / Qualifications**:

- 3 years + experience in practice is essential for this role.
- Studying towards ACA/ACCA or qualified
- Must be able to communicate at various levels.
- Has a can do attitude.
- Own transport is essential due to location.
