This internship is only open to current University of Edinburgh PhD students who will be based in the UK for the duration of the internship.

We are looking for a PhD intern to provide research and editorial assistance, and to help the GENDER.ED team in communicating and promoting the diverse research, teaching, and knowledge exchange work on gender and sexualities at the University of Edinburgh and in maintaining successful collaborations with external partners.

**The Opportunity**:
You will provide research assistance on GENDER.ED’s Voices from the Early Days Project, conducting and analysing interviews and archiving material gathered; you will assist in collating and copy-editing a manuscript based on a selection of blog posts from the 16 Days International Blogathon; you will create and execute social media promotions related to our events and blog; you will help to plan and execute our flagship initiatives including the Annual Research Showcase; you may assist with writing small funding bids and planning cross-university collaborations such as the Feminist Research Methods workshop.

[Employ.ed for PhDs is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with university departments and Schools. It offers exclusive part-time internships at the University all year round.]

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Knowledge of gender and sexuality studies, or cognate area
- Training and experience in qualitative research, in particular, interviews, transcription and analysis
- Training in oral history and archival methods
- Excellent writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Evidence of using initiative and self-motivation to see projects through to completion and to overcome challenges or obstacles, seeking assistance when needed
- A strong, confident communicator with the demonstrable ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders
