**JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SEASONAL SHORE OFFICE ASSISTANT**
The Shore Office Assistant needs to be able to deal with the public both face to face and over the telephone using a friendly and confident manner. This position is seasonal from mid March until the end of October, working a minimum of 30 hours a week. Starting on the 11th March working 20 hours for initial training then increasing to a minimum of 30hrs from 25th March. Interviews to be held w/c 19th February.
**Responsibilities**:
- Taking accommodation and travel ticket bookings for staying and day return passengers
- Answering the telephone
- Preparing for sailings and checking in passengers on sailing mornings
- Updating passenger manifests on sailing mornings
- Other admin duties as and when required
- Till and credit card machine reconciliations
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
- Dealing with deliveries
- Keeping the office clean and tidy
- Any other duties to ensure the smooth operation of the shore office
**Person Specification**
**Knowledge and Experience**:
- Experience of working in an office
- Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
**Skills and Competencies**:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer literate.
- Able to multi-task.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Organised.
- Team Player.
- Outwardly enthusiastic.
- Happy to work on their own.
**Job Types**: Contract, Part-time
**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
