**Job title: Cafe Assistant**

**Location: Melton Mowbray cafe**

**Hours: 6 Hours per week (including weekends)**

**Hourly rate: £12.00 per hour**

**Job Purpose**
- The Cafe Assistant will provide a first-class service to all Cafe users, support in all aspects of the work of the Cafe to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently, and maintain a welcoming, friendly atmosphere within the cafe area. The post holder will often be the first point of contact, responsible for providing good quality, efficient customer care for people accessing the cafe. Customer service, engagement, stock control, guiding volunteers, compliance, operations are key to this role.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service and dealing appropriately with all incoming enquiries regarding the Café directing them where necessary to the appropriate person in an efficient and prompt manner.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the cafe area and kitchen, making sure they are always safe and accessible. They will prepare and serve food from set recipes, and will ensure that the Cafe area, equipment, and contents are properly maintained in immaculate condition.
- Helping lead and engaging with a multi-disciplined team of both paid employees and volunteers. They will grow the team with the charity's values of Courage, Compassion, and Creativity.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene, record keeping, and assist the manager with other tasks associated with running a Cafe.
- Meet targets to ensure the Cafe grows.
