THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE.

The Neonatal clerical officer will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and smooth efficient running of specific administration functions within the Neonatal Service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Neonatal department. in Singleton hospital. The successful post holder will provide a high quality service for the patients and users of the service.

The main focus will be supporting the Neonatal Transport Service with administrative duties.

The post holder must be able to work autonomously, possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

The post holder will be required to;
- Maintain and update the cot locator system.
- Liaise with Neonatal units in South Wales.
- Liaise with Swansea Neonatal Transport service and alert them of any urgent calls - assisting with the communication between units and team members.
- Provide support with the correspondence of information with other neonatal units working within the transport service as guided by the clinical lead/transport manager.
- Assist in the production of the annual report for the neonatal unit and transport service.
- Provide data to the neonatal network regarding cot availability.
- Data entry and interrogation of databases to assess quality of service.
- Produce a monthly unit activity overview for the neonatal unit and transport service.
- Collect daily neonatal statistics, such as; Number of babies, dependency levels, ICD 10 and the unit status.
- Input admissions and discharges on a daily basis.
- Input results of 1 year and 2 year development assessment of ex premature NICU patients.
- Assist with management of the Oxford-Vermont database and the Badgernet which will enable benchmarking of services
- Support with the collation of information during the investigation of critical incidents designated by the Clinical Lead.

- Support the transport service with any administrative functions.
- Order necessary documentation, stationary and equipment when required for the neonatal service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
