Test Lead

The person appointed will work on multiple projects, they will lead, guide, and monitor the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of testing tasks. Being part of the Project Delivery & Transformation team, they will be responsible for collaborating with Ops Implementation team, 3rd party providers, Client Project teams, Business teams and Internal Support teams to support all Test procedures and test activities. Some onsite Project work may be required.
**Main duties**:
Leadership:
- To deliver initial estimates of the testing effort needed for new developments and functional enhancements.
- Participate in daily meetings and defect triage calls
- Responsible for working with third party suppliers for defect management
- Monitor, measure, control, and report to management on Test progress, product quality, Test results and Test Completion.
- To provide leadership and guidance to the test team on best practice, mentoring and supporting development of team members with training and growth plans.
- Work with the Test Manager to assist with managing resources effectively to ensure utilisation is maximised, aligned to plan, budget and to timeframes.
Testing:
- Document queries and defects and provide adequate data to allow rapid resolution.
- To review testing requirement for change requests, assessing the impact on test plans and schedules.
- Design and write new tests based on functional requirements for complex technical and business solutions.
- Ensure configuration management of all Test artefacts produced and traceability of the tests to the test basis.
- Drive standards and best practices in QA and Testing, champion the adoption of continuous quality improvement.
- Identify Test improvement opportunities, plan the effort, assist in the selection of tools and ensure training to team.
Delivery & Quality Management:
- Ensure performance is actively managed, work is prioritised effectively, individual/team objectives are consistently allocated, achieved and quality gate criteria is met.
**Knowledge and experience**
Essential:
- Previous hands-on experience as a Test Lead working with developers, product specialists, Business Analysts, Project Managers, testers, and business stakeholders.
- Broad knowledge of software development lifecycle(waterfall/agile) Cloud technologies, functional and non-functional test methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience in Non-functional testing, API test and cross browser testing
- Relevant and demonstrable experience of managing relationship with business and external stakeholders
- A proven track record in delivering on time.
- Test management and defect management tools e.g., Jira and Zephyr Scale
Desirable:
- An understanding of Logistics and Warehouse Operational Services
