An exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated senior neonatal nurse who has a passion for leading our neonatal Inreach and Outreach community team. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining clinical leadership, creating constant communication between medical, midwifery and nursing staff and managing care of the neonate on the postnatal ward or within the community.

The post holder will have a specific site base, but may be required to work across the MCS if service needs require.

This post is pivotal within the unit nursing structure.

Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is based on the Oxford Road Campus (ORC) and the Local Neonatal Units are based at Wythenshawe and North Manchester General Hospital. The NICU at Saint Mary's Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility co-located with the maternity unit and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, renowned for high standards of clinical care, research and education. Saint Mary's is one of three NICU’s in Greater Manchester and as a tertiary unit is the only provider of neonatal surgery and specialist Retinopathy of prematurity treatments. There is a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary working and family integrated care is a central element of the unit culture. This spreads across to our sister units at Wythenshawe and North Manchester, designated as a local neonatal units providing short term intensive, high dependency and special care to families residing in the local areas.
