Our advanced manufacturing site in Hereford, is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 2 million birds per week. There are over 1,500 talented people employed at our Hereford site, helping us to deliver high quality products to our customers and making the business a trusted leader in fresh foods. We’ve recently invested £1.2 million in technology and equipment, making it one of the most advanced food manufacturing facilities in the UK.

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our people across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated HR Administrator to join our Human Resources Team, based at our Hereford site.

The role is office based, so you’ll be working in a busy, dynamic environment. This is an ideal role for a current HR Administrator looking to develop and progress towards an HR Advisor position.

**What will you be doing as a HR Administrator at Avara?**

As a HR Administrator you’ll be providing a comprehensive and professional HR support to internal customers and the HR team. The position requires contact with all levels of Management in all departments across our Hereford operations.

**What will your key responsibilities as HR Administrator include?**
- Attending and documenting formal employee meetings.
- Assist HR Advisors with ER case work as and when required
- Managing the local HR processes, for example, coordinating starter / leaver and transfer information
- Generate and produce various people reports for site
- Administer leaver assessment process
- Conduct hourly paid exit interviews.
- Receive and deal with or refer to appropriate person, incoming HR related employee visits and queries
- Managing the with new starter onboarding including distribution, collation of paperwork and right to work checks
- Providing advice and guidance to Managers on HR policies and procedures.
- Managing and processing absence queries
- Supporting colleagues with proactive management of our long-term sickness cases and involving Occupational Health as and when appropriate.
- Compiling Absence Review Meeting Packs and arranging the meetings for the managers.
- Ensuring the relevant forms and absence documentation have been submitted in a timely manner, including self certs, med certs & return to works and actioning this on the Time Management System
- Manage AWOL process

**What you’ll need to be successful**:

- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to remain confidential.
- IT literate.
- Excellent administrative/organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also be a self-starter.
- Experience of working in a fast paced or similar role
- Ideally will have worked within a similar role with HR experience.
- A CIPD qualification and up to date employment law knowledge is not essential but would be an advantage.
