Street Lighting Operative (FT, PT, Job Share)

**Here's what you'll be doing**

In this role you will help carry out general duties on our Oldham and Rochdale PFI Project, including fault finding, general maintenance including cleaning and testing of fittings and associated gear, working from heights and digging associated with PCN and LV service jointing, column erection and cable laying and installation of new equipment.

You will carry out driving, delivery and general yard duties in support of the Highways Lighting business.

**Main Responsibilities**
- The repair, maintenance or commissioning of assets as instructed.
- The removal or decommissioning of assets as instructed.
- Work in connection with the installation and decommissioning of festive lighting.
- Work associated with Private Cable Networks.
- Work assocaited with DNO and iDNO connections.
- Hand digging for the installation of new and existing equipment.
- Reinstatements in line with HAUC regulations and Local Auhtority policies.
- Completing tasks associated with inventory recording and maintenance.
- The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role.
- Providing support to skilled and specialist operatives.
- Working in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures.
- Complying with operational working practices and associated risk assessments.
- Taking full ownership for personal Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Ensuring PPE is worn at all times.

**What we need from you**:

- A current UK driving licence.
- A high degree of manual dexterity.
- The ability to understand and carry out work instructions.
- The ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- The ability to communicate with colleagues.
- The ability to interact with the public in a polite and courteous manner, while carrying out work.

**It would be great if have you**
- A current NRSWA qualification.
- An appropriate G39 qualification.
- MEWP CPCS qualifications appropriate to the role.
- CSCS accreditation via the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS).
- Abrasive wheels.
- Manual Handling.
- First aid at work.
