Rochdale Borough Children Safeguarding Partnership (RBSCP) is seeking to appoint an experienced Independent Scrutineer to work closely with local safeguarding leaders.

The right candidate will play an important role providing analysis of the local multi-agency safeguarding arrangements, and promote the welfare of children and young people across the borough of Rochdale.

It is an exciting time to join RBSCP as strategic partnership leaders are reviewing and refreshing the multi-agency vision of safeguarding to ensure robust governance alongside placing children, young people and their families at the heart of everything we do.

The Independent Scrutineer will work closely with strategic leadership to undertake robust, solutions focused scrutiny and provide advice to ensure the quality of RBSCP is operating to the highest of standards.

We are looking for an inspirational and innovative individual with safeguarding experience from a social care, health or a policing background. The preferred candidate will operate strategically and utilise a range of evidence to hold strategic stakeholders to account.

You will be accountable to the 3 strategic leader partners from; Rochdale Borough Council, NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board and Greater Manchester Police. You will have the support of Rochdale’s Joint Board & Partnership Business Unit to undertake this role.

To maintain the integrity of this appointment, applicants must not have any current affiliation with any of the agencies represented on the partnership and must be able to demonstrate that they can undertake this role independently.

The role will require a DBS Check at an Enhanced Level.
