Applications are invited for a fixed-term Project Administrator in the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Centre within the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at Bangor University.

The Project Administrator’s overall responsibility is to support the Centre’s Deputy Operation Manager and other staff to successfully deliver the Centre’s output targets.

Duties will include: dealing with financial transactions, procurements, claims, travel and logistics; maintaining databases; arranging meetings, events and demonstrations; taking minutes at Board level; updating social media and the Centre’s website; creating and managing the Centre’s stakeholder newsletter; working collaboratively with University support departments; becoming acquainted and adhering to University policies and processes and relevant funding body’s rules and regulations.

Overview

DSP Centre Overview

The Optical Communications Research Group (OCRG) in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, Bangor University, has established its world-wide reputation in research in optical access networks and digital signal processing (DSP). By making use of the OCRG’s DSP research capability, an innovative-minded DSP Centre of Excellence was created in September 2019 in Bangor University, by involving a number of globally leading industrial partners with a well-balanced and skill-complementary expertise.

The DSP Centre develops cutting-edge DSP solutions for 5G and 5G ecosystems with a sharp focus on not only further improving its research capacity but also capturing more research grants from both public and private funding sources.

The DSP Centre is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Welsh Government until 30th June 2023. Beyond the funding period, the Centre’s long-term sustainability is envisaged to be maintained by capturing further research funding and commercialising the Centre-generated DSP solutions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing administrative support to the Centre's deputy operation manager and other staff to ensure day-to-day running of the DSP Centre operation.- Dealing with financial transactions, procurements, claims, travel and logistics- Maintaining the projects digital information database, filing all required evidence in suitable folders to be retrieved at future claims and audits- Arranging meetings and taking minutes at Project Board meetings- Arranging events and public demonstrations- Updating the Centre's website and social media accounts - Creating and sharing new content regularly- Creating and managing the Centre's new stakeholder newsletter- Liaising with various University support departments- Identifying and becoming acquainted with all funding bodies and the University rules and regulations relevant to the DSP Centre operation to ensure their appropriate implementation in the DSP Centre's operationOther
