**Specific role of House Support Assistant**
- To work under the guidance and support of the Assistant Headteacher responsible for the Pastoral system.
- Investigate specific behaviour incidents, taking statements from students where appropriate, and prepare accurate and appropriate documentation to report findings to Heads of House.
- Co-ordinate arrangements for House Events, including but not exclusive to:

- Parents Evening
- Commendation Evenings
- Academic Review Days
- Leavers Prom
- Be responsible for maintaining accurate information on student files.
- Arrange appointments/meetings for House Tutors/Heads of House when required.
- Attend meetings regarding student support as required, take minutes if necessary and circulate as appropriate
- Hold meetings for House Tutors/Heads of House when required

- To assist the Head of House in the preparation of reports/interim reports for external agencies and parents
- To assist Heads of House in behaviour monitoring; tracking incident slips and reporting to Heads of House
- To use information from SIMS to inform actions and decisions by the Head of House
- To receive referrals for “isolation”, notifying staff and parents of the sanction and to cover “isolation”.
- To administer house points, awards and certificates, providing weekly and termly reports to the Heads of House and House Achievement Co-ordinators.
- Administer first aid and medication to students according to policy and procedures for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
- Assist and help students with their enquiries or problems.
- Co-ordinate work for all students who are not able to attend school
- Conduct administrative duties for:

- Vaccinations
- Rewards
- Data Collection
- Sanctions
- Lost Property
- School Photographs
- Student Reports
- Confiscations
- Tutor Notices
- Leavers Prom
- To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of academy related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential or sensitive information.

**General Welfare of Pupils**

Duties below show some of the areas managed by Heads of House. These may also be undertaken as part of the daily routine of the House Support Assistant:

- Liaise with Inclusion manager as when pupils need to attend Student Support Centre as appropriate.
- Organise relevant meetings to assist with Pupil Welfare e.g. review meetings.
- To assist in leading the vision for the development of pupils, in terms of year group assemblies, reward and achievement assemblies.
- To assist in enforcing sanctions and discipline for they key stage, in accordance with school policy.
- Assisting in the daily organisation of logístical matters: parents’ evenings, meetings with parents and other agencies.

**Emotional Support for Students**
- Work with identified students
- Contact with parents and staff regarding time and duration of sessions
- Closure - contact with parents and identified staff
- Follow on actions with staff as to strategies given to student
- Work with students at Tutor Time, breaks and lunchtimes - ad-hoc referred by staff
- Recording and up-date of all outside agency work
- Liaising with School Nurse and Healthcare agencies along with referrals for mental health issues to CAMHS and well-being services, including the School Counsellor

**General**
- Liaison with other departments and non-teaching staff over matters relating to House Support and whole-school issues.
- Attendance at staff meetings and INSET activities where relevant.
- To uphold and actively support the academy’s policies and procedures.

You will undertake a Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner Apprenticeship as part of the role

Hours - Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

Term time only
