Our client based in Stevenage Town Centre are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their growing business.

**The main responsibilities of the role are as follows**:

- Managing and posting invoices ensuring sales and purchase ledgers
- Working with Finance Manager to prepare monthly management accounts for at lease one entity
- Maintaining technical knowledge of financial reporting and being the point of reference regarding new (and existing) standards
- Preparing for year end
- Month end completion
- Monthly credit card reconciliation
- Playing an active role in the continuous improvement of finance department processes and procedures
- Recording, reconciling and auditing data
- ADHOC work when necessary
- Credit control
- Work with finance manager to maintain and upkeep files and introduce new processes to improve productivity
- Reporting discrepancies to manager Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion
- Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies
- Proven experience within accounts
- Experience with using SAGE 200/50 is essential
- Experience with all Microsoft Office products - Excel knowledge is essential
- Managing the sales and purchase ledger and reconciliation
- Month end reconciliation duties
- Credit control
- Accounting qualification is desirable
