A well-established, market leading business based in Stevenage are looking for a talented Accounts Assistant, ideally with experience in a similar role to join their accounting team.

**Job Profile**

The role will suit someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and someone who is able to manage multiple tasks at once, with a strong attention to detail, as well as an ability to react positively to tight deadlines and work well under pressure.

**Primary responsibilities**
- Support the finance team across all key areas of the purchasing function.
- Purchase ledger & statement reconciliation.
- Purchase order queries.
- Payment runs.
- Other various duties as required by the business.

**Skill/Experience**
- Part-qualification/Fully qualified in AAT/ACCA would be desirable.
- Experienced in bookkeeping or accountancy in an SME environment would be desirable.
- An exceptionally high degree of numeracy and attention to detail.
- Experienced and confident using SAGE or similar software.
- A good communicator, skilled at getting information from a range of sources and departments.
- Computer literate and confident in the use of the Microsoft Office package.
- Intermediate level Excel skills to a confident degree.
- A team play, able to foster excellent relationships at all levels.
- A self-starter, willing to go the extra mile.
- Experience of payroll.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise a workload.
- Polite and professional phone manner.
- Possess flexibility and ability to effectively perform multiple functions at a time.
- Ability to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Ability to react positively to tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Maintain and develop positive business relationships with both internal and external customers.

**Hours**:
Monday - Friday / 8.30am - 5.00pm

**Package/Benefits**:

- 22 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (Pro-rata)

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
