The System Improvement Team covering the South East region at NHSEI supports health care systems to deliver stepped improvements in the delivery of local care services. The Team was formed in 2019 and brings together the capacity and capability functions of operational productivity, GiRFT, Rightcare and Improvement science into one integrated support offer to the region. The focus of the System Improvement Team as a whole is to support the region and its six systems to deliver local agendas that drive continuous and sustainable improvement in the quality and efficiency of services.

The team has an exciting opportunity for a permanent position within our dynamic team. This position would be well suited to a self starter, who enjoys working alongside systems to deliver improvements and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace. As a member of the team, you will work closely with all areas of improvement, to assist with the design and delivery of improvement plans, including the development of improved care pathways as defined by national and regional priorities, helping the team to achieve agreed targets.

As a System Improvement Lead specific responsibilities of the role include:
To provide system aligned support to the Deputy Director of System Improvement, taking responsibility for planning and delivering agreed programmes of support.
- To provide specialist input in the development and deployment of the System Improvement team’s expertise in good practice, drawing from national case studies and examples
- To develop and hold key relationships with the relevant parts of the NHSE/I national Improvement Directorate, other national teams including Workforce and OD and a wide range of other organisations who will be involved in each SME’s area of focus
- Develop and lead workshops to share best practice and to communicate emerging national thinking to support improvement.
- Define the requirements for analytical products and support from the Data and Analytics Hub, ensuring the local system improvement programmes adopt and deploy intelligence products as appropriate
- Provide line management and coaching to the more junior members of the team

The successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft office, excellent project management skills and strong attention to detail. Good communication skills are also essential.
