Do you work in Food Production - Technical? Are you looking for your next challenge? Freshcut Foods are currently looking to recruit a new Food Technologist to ensure that all Customer documentation held on site is up to date and correct.

The shift for this role is Tuesday to Saturday.

Freshcut Foods is the UK’s leading manufacturer of added value plant based ingredients. Our customers are major household names across the food service, retail, and delivery box sectors. Operating out of our three well invested sites in Nottingham, we continue our rapid expansion while remaining dynamic and leading the way in vegetable innovation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Ÿ To help with Customer Specifications
- To review Customer Specifications against a documented schedule on an annual basis or as required by the Customer.
- To obtain the Customers formal approval of Specifications and hold a record of this approval on file.
- To write customer specifications in their format which may be in word or internet based systems
- To work closely with the NPD department to ensure that specifications are completed in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
- To write customer format specifications and ensure that they are detailed and accurate

Ÿ Customer Complaints
- To investigate Customer Complaints with Production personnel.
- Write Customer Complaint responses, ensuring any necessary corrective action has been completed or implemented.
- To ensure that all systems in relation to legal requirements, BRC and customers are kept up to date and in line with the latest standards.
- Undertake gap analysis work when new standards from customers are proposed to the site.
- Undertake any appropriate validation work on any new systems or processes..
- To manage the supply chain mapping of our growers with the Quality Systems Technologist
- Undertake traceability exercises for customers and at audits
- To manage site risk assessments for BRC requirements e.g. Allergen control

Ÿ To deputise in the absence of the QA Manager or Technical Assistants - This means you may need to work a shift at certain times to cover holidays / sickness -See below
- To ensure that all micro trends of product and the environment is kept up to date and the Technical team are aware of any out of spec results

 Carry out any other adhoc duties
- To carry out any other duties requested by the management team.

Duties to be covered as a Shift Technical Assistant:
To carry out auditing
- To carry out internal audits in line with the internal audit schedule
- To report, record and action compliances and non compliances to production
- To agree corrective actions and timescales with the relevant supervisors
- To follow up and verify corrective actions

To fully document all incidents
- Any incidents are to be fully documented on the relevant sheet, ie metal incident, glass breakage etc.
- To inform the Technical Manager of the incident and the action taken.

To develop product knowledge and GMP across the site
- Whilst in the factory use all opportunities to increase employee understanding of GMP and food safety requirements. Training of production personnel on relevant QA tasks to an appropriate level of competency.

Microbiological
- To follow up any adverse micro results by completing and record a full investigation on all relevant processes and raw materials.
- To ensure that products are sent away for microbiological testing according to a pre-determined schedule meeting customer requirements.
- To ensure that the factory is swabbed in accordance to a pre-determined schedule.
- To conduct shelf life trials when new products are launched to confirm that the new product conforms to the customers microbiological requirement.

Calibration
- To ensure that all key measuring equipment used within the factory is calibrated to a known standard.

Good Educational Background - Ideally degree educated

Good Problem Solver.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Adaptable - able to quickly master new ideas and processes.

Self-starter, with energy and enthusiasm to succeed.

To have basic/intermediate PC skills

Food Industry Experience is essential

QA experience is essential and experience of writing specification is desirable

This position will require you to work extra hours to meet the demands of our customers so flexibility
