JOB PURPOSE:

- to maintain the Hotel standards expected as set out by the General Manager, Ops Manager, F&B Manager and Restaurant Manager
- to ensure that the department runs in a professional manner, utilizing computer and communication equipment to its full potential
- to ensure Guest satisfaction of the highest order and exceed Guest expectations
- to carry out reasonable requests by Management and to report back any observations and from time to time carry out work in other areas of the business, not usually required in your normal line of work, at the request of the Manager
- to assist in controlling departmental costs through monitoring and stocktaking and to promote environmentally efficient practices
- to make suggestions to Management on promotional opportunities to help in departmental sales to meet and exceed budgets
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- to be pleasant at all times and welcome Guests at the Restaurant, or Bar entrance - behaviour should always be professional and friendly to ensure that you give exemplary Hospitality to all Guests at all times
- to go the extra mile to exceed Guest expectations
- to develop interactive Guest relations and to be aware of any possible future requirements - to relay such information and ideas to the F&B Manager and General Manager for the enhancement of Guest expectations
- to ensure all communications procedures are effective and efficient on a day to day basis, so that service standards are not compromised
- to be able to act with initiative, planning for the future and possible consequences
- to be pro-active in getting things done and exceeding expectations of both Guests and colleagues wherever possible
- to always look well groomed and professional, wearing the correct uniform, shoes and name badge to Company standards
- to help monitor the Restaurant diary, ensuring that all Guest profile information is recorded correctly
- to ensure all Revenue is maximized through correct billing and accounting procedures
- to assist in the Restaurant, Bar and Lounge area when required, or requested and to take orders for food and drink in the absence of senior staff and to ensure orders are served promptly in accordance with Hotel standards
- to maintain a presence in all public areas in case of additional Guest requests, or questions
- to serve drinks from the Bar and food from the Kitchen to the Restaurant in a professional and efficient manner, always asking if the Guest requires anything else before leaving the table
- to work in a clean and tidy manner, avoiding any untidiness or dirtiness in the Restaurant and back of house areas - to report all faults to the Line Manager
- to be familiar with Operational Standards for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service and to carry out agreed procedures to the best of your ability at all times
- to display a pro-active and innovative approach to skills and standards development within your team
- to attend and participate in regular statutory training sessions for Fire, Health & Safety and have a thorough knowledge of and adhere to the law with regards the following company regulations
- Health & Safety Regulations (including COSHH, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments, PPE)

Basic Food Handling & Hygiene Regulations

Fire Regulations & Procedures

First Aid Procedures

Licensing Laws

Disability Discrimination Awareness

Food Allergy & Intolerance Awareness
- to attend and participate in regular ‘on’ and ‘off the job’ training sessions, as set out by Management
- to be able to use the basic functions of the Restaurant, Bar and Lounge till, being able to produce a Guest bill and take accurate payment
- to ensure that all menus and price lists are current and up to date with the correct information
- to know and understand all food and beverage items on the current menus, being able to recommend dishes, or specials to the Guest
- to be able to deal efficiently with a room service order according to set standards
- to adhere to all Company Cash Handling procedures
- to perform any reasonable request by Management within the spirit of your job description, which may not be mentioned above

EXPENDITURE
- there is no authority to commit the Hotel to any form of expenditure without the express consent of the Manager

LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
- there is no authority to commit the Hotel to any contractual agreement

This Job Description is not exhaustive due to the requirements of the Hotel Industry. Therefore, the jobholder may be required from time to time to carry out other tasks as requested by Management.
