Banking & Payments Executive

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Banking & Payments Executive to join the Corio’s rapidly growing offshore wind business and support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. Corio was developed under the Green Investment Group and remains a subsidiary of Macquarie Group (Australia’s largest investment bank) so we have strong financial support to drive the business forward.
Based in Edinburgh you will support the Finance Team in ensuring Corio's standards of financial control and operational risk requirements are incorporated into all projects.
You will be responsible for evaluating, negotiating and implementing new banking relationships and then managing the relationship with those banking partners including the opening and general management of bank accounts for new projects. This role will also involve the shaping of a new accounts payable system and associated procedures, ensuring that appropriate payment controls, interfaces and reporting are in place.
You will take ownership of all payments including drawdowns, accounts payable, payroll and employee expenses, ensuring appropriate standards of financial governance, control and record keeping are in place across all aspects of these processes. You will also provide the necessary reporting to both internal and external stakeholders as required.
To be successful for this role you must have:
- At least 2-3 years' experience in an Accounts or Finance Administration role
- Opening and general management of multiple bank accounts across multiple banks
- Experience using multiple online banking portals
- Accounts payable - Reviewing and processing multiple payments covering general expenses, staff costs and payroll over multiple jurisdictions/currencies (UK, Europe, Asia)
- Accounts receivable - Raising invoices in line with Service agreements and intercompany
- Cash management, funding and hedging experience
- Experience in the processes and controls associated with the above
You will have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a small team to implement and drive improvements in controls, processes and reporting and deliver excellent service to a demanding customer base, so strong stakeholder management skills are key.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a small team environment, driving process improvements is crucial to success in this role.
