IT Asset and Configuration Manager

6 month contract.

Remote based. (Willingness to travel to customer site on occasion)

Advantage Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of our IT Client for an IT Asset and Configuration Manager on an initial 6 month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a large enterprise customer with a UK presence.

**The Role**

In this role you will be responsible for assisting with the setup and early-life support, then helping with the transition to the ongoing delivery of IT asset and stock management, all within an ITIL framework using Service Now.

Your responsibilities will include IT hardware and software asset management (ITAM), receipt and allocation of IT assets, management of asset within our customer's asset management (AMDB) and configuration management databases (CDMB), asset audits and reconciliations,disposals and reporting.
- Maintain the asset management records, Configuration Item (CI) data and their relationships within the IT Service Management (ITSM) system to enable accurate information for IT Service Management processes and decision making.
- Build and maintain effective relationships, working with key customer and internal stakeholders to manage the lifecycle for all managed assets and present service output to our customer.
- Help to identify and manage the prioritisation of day to day activities with an IT Asset & Configuration Analyst and provide support and guidance to this role.
- Manage IT Asset stock and stock locations at the customer's premise.
- Ratify and normalise received data ready to be loaded into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) sitting under the ITSM.
- Participate in regular audits (and reconciliation) of configuration item in the CMDB, and develop reports to assist in implementing processes to remediate non-compliance and ensure the database reflects the production environment.
- Promote the value of Asset & Configuration management and develop policies, processes and procedures within the organisation to ensure compliance and reduce risk.
- Driving forward activities to deliver key improvements ensuring processes and tools are 'fit for purpose' along with knowledge transfer and education to support teams.

**What you will offer**:

- Experience working across Asset Management in IT Services.
- A background in managed services, or service provider environments with experience in tracking hardware and software assets.
- A clear understanding and experience of working with CMDBs.
- Well organised and proactive individual who is calm under pressure with the ability to problem solve.
- Good communicator, with experience in delivering written reports, with strong verbal communication.
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally and work to demanding deadlines and targets
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
- ITIL qualification or IATAM certification is ideal
