Night Porter/receptionist

**BEST WESTERN PLUS BURLINGTON HOTEL - FOLKESTONE**

**TYPE**: Part-time. This permanent role involves working 2 to 4 nights per week, weekends and bank holidays to meet the business needs.

**PAY**: £10.90 per hour

The 4 star Best Western Plus Burlington Hotel is looking for a Part Time Night Porter/Receptionist.

Main Duties

Ensure that the two nightly fire reports and the security patrols at 1am and 5am are carried out, thus ensuring the safety and security of the guests and hotel.
Check that all fire doors are shut properly. Doors should not be blocked.
Ensure that that all fire extinguishers are hooked on the wall and are not holding open any doors.
Record all security and fire checks in your hand over book, stating the time and who carried them out.
Ensure that all late arrivals and early departures are greeted courteously and efficiently.
To be responsible for any chance arrivals, to follow the correct billing and settlements of accounts in line with the reception manual, making sure that any extras i.e. newspapers, drinks etc. are charged.
To make presentable and tidy the lounges, to polish and clean tables, reception desk, Bar area, ashtrays, glasses left over etc. and Hoover.
To clean and stock up the Public Toilets.
To ensure that service of tea, coffee, liquor and sandwiches is carried out in an efficient and professional way.
To be responsible for the billing and taking of any moneys for any service rendered and post in computer or leave for reception to post in the morning.
To carry out an opening stock, consumption stock and closing stock of all goods in the night porter cupboard before leaving in the morning.
To be responsible for the ordering and issuing of Newspapers, early morning calls and Continental breakfasts in line with the hotel standard.
To be responsible for the switchboard at night. Please ensure that you have bleep No.00 with you at all times switched on also at the switchboard, as this will alert you wherever you are in the building.
To be available and deal with guests comments, complaints and special requests. Making sure that any comments/complaints are recorded in the night porter book.
To assist the other staff wherever needed.
To prepare the hotels notice board for the next day, by following the Function sheet.
To ensure that all conference rooms are set if needed to the hotel standard and of course to the customers needs.
To carry out any special duties that have been asked of by the Duty Manager.
To issue any keys to the early morning staff, making sure that they sign them in and out.
If required, to set up any functions/breakfast or anything else that has been asked of by the Duty Manager or the General Manager.
To ensure that any special orders/requests are passed on to the appropriate departments.
