Durham, United Kingdom Bishop Barrington Academy Full time

The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic member of staff to work alongside our Learning Support Unit as a member of the SEN team.

The school has recently moved into a brand new state of the art building fully equipped to deliver the highest quality of education to the community of Bishop Auckland.

A £10 million new school building was completed and opened in September 2020 resulting in an outstanding learning environment offering state of the art facilities. There are floodlit, LTA standard, tennis courts and sports facilities that are second to none. Located in the heart of the historic town of Bishop Auckland situated 12 miles northwest of Darlington and 12 miles southwest of Durham City, Bishop Barrington School is easily accessible via road or public transport networks.

Success in examinations is important to us and we celebrate it. However, at Bishop Barrington Academy, excellent exam results and successful progression to post 16 destinations, in the UK and worldwide, are only part of the picture. We believe in educating the whole child and every child so that our students develop to be the very best people that they can be: to have respect for their environment, for others and themselves, to be an inspiration to others, show resilience when needed and aim for nothing short of excellence. The Bishop Barrington RISE values frame the way we think about what it is to become a successful and confident young adult.

Bishop Barrington Academy employs inspirational, skilled and creative staff to enhance outcomes of all students.
