Our Cardiac Rehabilitation team are a well established team that strives for excellent patient care for Cardiac patients of mid Essex and is looking for a friendly, supportive Senior Secretary/Administrator to be an integral part of this department.

You will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, and efficient
Administration/ Co-ordination and Secretarial service to the Cardiac Rehabilitation department enabling the delivery of a high quality service to the patients and allowing medical and nursing staff to focus on direct patient care and will involve considerable liaison with other departments, wards and hospitals, and direct communication with patients and relatives.

You will also offer effective support to the Cardiac Rehabilitation team to assist with the improvement of the flow of patients throughout the service in order to reduce patient waiting times and ensure the service receives the correct payment per patient by ensuring accurate data input and analysis.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Senior Secretary/Administrator is a key member of the team, being responsible for providing a wide range of administrative, I.T. and clerical support including maintaining computer and paper-based patient records, preparing patient and course paperwork and responding promptly, effectively and appropriately to telephone enquiries.

Your role has a national and contractual requirement to collect and report data for a variety of Cardiac databases that informs a range of statistical measures against which the Trust is assessed, and which Cardiac Rehabilitation team income generate, so being proficient in utilising these databases is vital for this post.

In undertaking the role you will be expected both to follow specific
instructions from the healthcare team and to follow general procedures that involve a greater level of autonomy and decision-making, provide secretarial and administrative support to the Cardiac Matron / Cardiac Rehabilitation team, supervise and manage an administration / clerical team and may be required to assist in the recruitment, administration and selection of secretarial and clerical staff.
