**The Role**:
As a Senior Strategic Communications Officer for City Highways, you’ll make your own powerful contribution to the lives of local communities. During this six-month, fixed-term contract, you’ll support a key consultation project to implement new cycle lanes and cycleway routes across Westminster. It’s an opportunity to work with a flagship local authority on a high-profile project to encourage residents, workers and visitors to cycle and so contribute to a safer, healthier city.

Working alongside the City Highways team, you will develop and implement multiple cycling consultations to address different audiences and interest groups. At the same time, you will collaborate with our corporate communications team to develop integrated communication plans to inform audiences, influence opinion and drive participation. The role may also include working with some third-party consultancy agencies. You will analyse feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of our activities. Your expertise will be welcomed and supported by our knowledgeable and high-performing highways team.

**About You**:
You’ll bring experience of working on proactive communications plans using a variety of tools, techniques and channels. You’ll have a strong track-record in strategic communications and a good grounding in local government, ideally including knowledge of public engagement on highways or planning schemes. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are, of course, essential and you should also be fully IT literate. Highly organised you’ll be ready to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.
