Role: QA Assistant

Department: Technical

Reports to: Compliance / Quality Manager

**Aim**:
Routinely checking products to ensure that the product and product packaging is correct from a food safety and legality perspective. Recording information on relevant systems in order to demonstrate traceability and due diligence on behalf of the site and company. Escalating non-conformances which will affect Food Safety, legal and BRC compliance, in order to prevent product withdrawals/recalls and potential legal infringements

**Main Duties**:

- Sampling and testing all Raw Materials / Work in Progress and Finished Goods.
- Continually reviewing and auditing documentation for all Raw Materials, Finished Goods and Works Orders ensuring all CCP’s are completed and signed.
- HACCP procedures and controls including checking, monitoring and implementing changes when required.
- Internal auditing of all prerequisites. Including pest control/glass and plastic, metal detection
- Quality Auditing - Annual full quality audit against current BRC requirements. Monthly GMP audits. Traces and annual recall test.
- Quality Manual - updating and document control of all systems, procedures and policies.
- Ensuring all required information is received from suppliers in line with current legal and BRC requirements.
- Ensuring customers receive all required technical information including questionnaires, specifications and certificates of analysis.
- Monitoring complaints, customer and suppliers and keeping complaints database up to date.
- Managing and reporting at monthly meetings of all supplier, internal (Including GMP) and customer complaints.
- Managing environmental testing - water, swabbing, allergens and results.
- Managing supplier approval systems and raw material risks database

**Skills**:

- Microsoft Office and relevant system knowledge
- Ability to influence others to adhere to the correct procedures
- Ability to communicate and interpret written and numerical data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing site.
- Ability to identify and implement technical improvements.
- Food Safety and Health and Safety trained.
- Experience in food manufacturing processes
- Quality Control experience
- Understanding of product allergens

**KPI’s**:

- Completion of orders within time frames
- Quality audits
- Wastage performance indicators
- Non-conformance analysis
- Complaint analysis
- Annual performance review

**Salary**: £19,898.91-£24,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
