Our friendly client is seeking a talented HR & Payroll Assistant to join their team and support the HR department with payroll management and general administrative functions.
This is an office-based role, there is free parking but hybrid working is not offered.
**Responsibilities**:
Provide support to line managers and colleagues for people admin and payroll
Assist HR across employee lifecycle (recruitment, induction, benefits, performance, exits)
Coordinate Group HR Manager recruitment, onboarding, and case management
Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS, adapt under pressure, and handle HR projects
Manage UK hourly employees’ end-to-end processes, including new hires and absences
Reconcile hours, holidays, and absences using the Time & Attendance system
Verify and approve hourly staff hours, ensuring accurate payment
Ensure timely payment of hourly salaries, statutory payroll reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders
**Requirements**:
Proven work experience as a HR Assistant or in a related role, with a focus on payroll administration
A strong understanding of payroll processes, taxation, and relevant labor laws
Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll software
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
