The role sits in the Strategy and Delivery team and will support the Director of Delivery in the provision of efficient, effective and high quality elective care and cancer services to ensure sustainable achievement of all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements and development of key services as agreed through the planning assumptions ICB strategic plan.

This is a senior leadership role, a key player in delivering the constitutional standards for elective and cancer care including diagnostics through supporting key providers to achieve and develop their services to become sustainable. They will be responsible for the long-term provision of Joined Up Care Derbyshire’s (JUCD) Planned Care services. The role is responsible for ensuring that service design and delivery is based on best practice operational & activity management processes.
They will be accountable for the development, implementation and delivery of a system wide planned care function that supports JUCD Integrated Care System (ICS) Delivery Boards and the broader governance groups. The role requires strong relationships and partnerships with key organisations to support delivery of key services. They will be an ambassador for planned care and the key programmes of work that underpin it. This requires the possession of well developed leadership skills and the ability to harness positive relationships across the system with energy, enthusiasm and tenacity.
NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the health statutory body for the Derby City and Derbyshire population. ICSs are partnerships of health and care organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined-up services and to improve the health of people who live and work in their area. Serving a total population of 1,053,000 with a budget of over £1.6 billion the ICB has a staff base of approximately 500 people.
