**Summary**:

This unique and exciting opportunity puts the post holder at the centre of this change working in the Data Capability Centre to build and lead a community that will drive the people, process and technology improvements across the Home Office on a range of priority areas including data quality, data sharing and supporting specific data problems.
- The Data Capability Centre sits within the Home Office Data and Identity Directorate and within STARS. It provides coherence by building and drawing on communities of experts, coordinating activity and taking forward priority projects identified as the most important for the transformation we are seeking. This is a great time to join as it builds its services on a wide range of data issues, capabilities and programmes.**Job description**:
- This role will lead and drive priorities identified in the One Home Office (OHO) data transformation initiative specifically delivering solutions to deliver effect for operational and analysis partners. This includes how to improve data sharing and data quality. These will help move us towards using data and information as a strategic asset for the public good. The role will lead efforts to build communities so that delivery is co-owned and driven by empowered teams, influence and shape how partners approach data quality and sharing issues and encourage best practice and innovation.
- The role would suit someone with demonstrable experience in delivering solutions (technological or non-technological) to data problems and ability to bring rigour to delivery through programme management approaches. This post provides a unique opportunity to develop advanced leadership, project management, strategy and exposure to a broad range of data issues including policy and legislation development. Given the early stage of the DCC’s development it would suit an individual looking for a varied lead delivery role with the opportunity to shape responsibilities and the direction of travel.- Please note that you can be based in any Home Office location listed, however, regular attendance to Marsham Street may be necessary.
- There will be flexibility to adopt a hybrid working pattern which would see the post holder spend part of their week working from home.-
**Responsibilities**:
- The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Work with customers and stakeholders from across the Home Office and sector to form a team of customers, users and data specialists who can work together to drive value from Home Office data - for ourselves and for wider HMG.
- Overall responsibility for identifying and delivering solutions and improvements in data sharing and quality with a view to broaden into other components as the OHO portfolio matures.
- Provide an advisory service to projects that are dependent on data and provide the join-up with central improvement efforts.
- Ensure all activities are contributing to the Home Office Data Vision and are maturing the Department’s overall capability.
- Input to the development of key performance measures and maturity assessment to ensure solutions and improvements are delivering value to stakeholders and customers.
- Engage across Government and industry to identify where the Home Office and family can leverage existing work for the Department specific to data sharing and quality activities.
- Ensure the organisation has appropriate processes, structures and capability to deliver the collective ambition and are reflective in business and financial plans.
- Respond to changes in business needs and / or OHO transformation requirements and support the adjustment of the OHO data work strands accordingly.
