Queen Ethelburga’s is set in more than 220 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, on the Thorpe Underwood Estate. **Department Purpose**

Queen Ethelburga’s operates term-time academic courses for students aged 3 months to 19 years, in addition to a range of short courses and holiday clubs offered during school holiday periods. Facilities are also available for booking by external organisations.

The Admissions, Marketing and Student Engagement team is responsible for the recruitment and retention of UK and international students, for all programmes detailed above. It also takes responsibility for all marketing and mass communication, always making sure that marketing is demonstrably linked to both the needs of the organisation and the expectations of our UK and international markets. The team leads with ensuring that alumni and other relevant commercial organisations are fully engaged with life at Queen Ethelburga’s, developing these networks for the benefit of all in the QE community. Finally, widening participation is a key focus of the organisation and the team is expected to work with relevant stakeholders, in order to support students from a wide range of backgrounds, so that they are able to benefit from the opportunities provided by Queen Ethelburga’s.

The team works closely with the Corporate Strategic Team and the Collegiate Leadership Team in order to ensure the financial sustainability of the Collegiate from year to year.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Working closely with the Registrar, Marketing and Communications Manager and the Director of International Admissions, this role will help to advance the profile and reputation of Queen Ethelburga’s as a leading independent school, performance sports training venue and major employer in the local area.

The postholder will:

- Contribute to, implement and monitor marketing plans to support the delivery of the overall marketing and communications strategy
- Enhance the brand profile of QE and improve conversion of enquirers through to enrolment, utilising a range of marketing mediums and working with the wider marketing team
- Be an active user of the Salesforce software, creating and tracking communication campaigns through Pardot which convert enquiries into registrations
- Be instrumental within the team to deliver a new website for QE
- Maintain relevant and engaging content for the QE website
- Work closely with departments across QE to ensure the creation of high-quality, innovative content which can be distributed locally, nationally and internationally in print and physical form
- Book, monitor and audit print advertising for the Collegiate to ensure the best use of the advertising budget
- Create and maintain a print and physical communications plan and documentation audit cycle
- Monitor and report on reach and impact of all print and physical media, for internal and external audiences
- Have experience of graphic design and be a confident user of the Adobe Creative suite
- Write, edit, and proofread PR, communications, marketing material for use in different channels
- Continual monitoring of market sector insights and competitor activity
- Support the team, including all those with recruitment responsibilities, with print and physical campaigns for leads, registered students, alumni, potential commercial lets, and other stakeholders
- Be an experienced marketer (3+ years experience), and knowledge of the education sector is desirable but not essential
- Be educated to degree level
- Have experience of working independently and as part of a team
- Be a skilled communicator and have the ability to build constructive working relationships

- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person
